
Dr. Carr is a Lead Investigator within the Drug Discovery and Development Group at the Lieber Institute for Brain Development (LIBD) and an Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology, Pharmacology, and Therapeutics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Carr’s research focuses on the intersection of neuroscience and behavioral pharmacology, specifically investigating the etiology of neuropsychiatric disorders and identifying novel therapeutic strategies. He has an extensive background in preclinical drug discovery and is the principal investigator on multiple early-stage drug discovery projects. Dr. Carr earned his BA in Neuroscience from Kenyon College and his PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Clinical Brain Disorders Branch at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). He is a member of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ACNP) and a fellow of the International Behavioral Neuroscience Society (IBNS).
